Match Preview: Rossco looks ahead to Talbot

By Sam Jenkinson

BSC assistant manager Ross Wilson says the squad will relish the big crowd at Beechwood, and that they’ll play up to the atmosphere provided by the Talbot fans when Broomhill travel South to face their cup opponents today.

Chris McDougall’s second half equaliser forced the replay as BSC made their Scottish Cup debut last weekend. Aaron Connolly also snatched his own piece of history, bagging BSC’s first ever goal in the competition to cancel out the visitors opener in front of a packed Lochburn Park.

Wilson doesn’t underestimate the importance of the fans during these encounters, and is looking forward to seeing a large turnout for todays match:

“I thought the atmosphere was great at Lochburn. I was delighted with the amount of people there and I think it will be even better with more there at Beechwood. I feel our players play up to a crowd and showed that last week, and obviously their players are used to it, so the atmosphere will help the game.”

“There are players here who have played in front of 1,000 every week and love it, that’s what happens when you play in big games and win big games.”

Wilson, speaking at BSC’s last training session before today’s big cup tie, also spoke about working with fellow coaches Craig Young and Ally Graham:

“The three of us have a good relationship and we believe in the same philosophy football wise. We largely keep things the same because if something’s not broke, don’t fix it.”

The ex-East Kilbride man says not much will change in the side as BSC look to qualify for the second round in their first ever Scottish Cup season:

“We’ll maybe change things slightly, without giving too much away, but that’s football. We’re pleased with the way things went on Saturday but we’ve got to take into account Beechwood is a much bigger park and we’ve got to work to our strengths.”

The Bots will be the opponents today for BSC Glasgow, before a return to league action in a busy October schedule.
