BSC Glasgow vs Threave Rovers :: 11th April, 2015 :: Scottish Sun Lowland League

Tomorrow, BSC Glasgow will make the long trip down south to take on Threave Rovers in what will be their final away fixture of their inaugural season in the Scottish Sun Lowland League.

The sides have only played each other once this season, as the Castle Douglas boys visited Lochburn Park all the way back in August. Striker Aiden Malone picked up three on the day, as BSC ran out 5-0 winners.

Now, sitting 10th with four league games left to play, the club will hope for a similar result as their last, something Manager Iain King thinks more than possible after Wednesdays’ performance in the League Cup.

He said: “I think it (Wednesday) was another excellent performance. We had to battle and it was difficult on the surface to get it down and play… but I think we’ll go in on Saturday buzzing and look to get a few goals at Threave. It’s a great, wide open park.”

Winger Kieran O’Hear is also looking forward to Saturday’s match following a good spell of results from his side.

“I think the consistency has improved massively over the past five games and we can take that in to Saturday. If we bring that same work rate and that consistency to Threave, then we should do alright.”
BSC will be boosted by the return of midfielder Tony Wallace who missed out on Wednesday’s League Cup match, but will be without defender Aaron Murdoch, which means a possible change in line-up, but something not to worry much about.

King said: “We’ll shuffle the pack a bit again, Jordan McKechnie was back Wednesday on the bench which is great and he’ll come back into the squad. Tony Wallace will be back from suspension, so we’ll have a strong squad going down there.

Despite already cementing their place in the league next season, expectations remain high within the squad for the remaining matches.

“We want to finish as high up the league as possible. It’s a wee mini league down at the bottom half, which Gala are at the top of in 8th, so we’d love to finish there. Mid table in our first season with a cup final to look forward to and hopefully another cup run in this competition.”
