BSC GLASGOW vs MORTON FRIENDLY SWITCHED TO AIRDRIE
BSC GLASGOW have switched the friendly with League One champions Morton on Tuesday July 7 to Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium with a 7.15pm kick-off.
The match has had to be moved from Lochburn Park with essential work to ready the pitch for the new season and the Scottish Cup campaign now well underway.
BSC Glasgow general manager George Fraser explained: “There is reseeding work on the pitch and renovations that were needed as part of our SFA Licence being completed at Lochburn.
“That means switching the pre-season games so that all is ready for our first home match in the Lowland League against Dalbeattie Star on Wednesday August 5.
“We’d like to thank Morton for agreeing to the switch to what is an excellent venue and we’re really looking forward to the game.”
The club’s planned friendly with Northern League side Newcastle Benfield on Saturday July 4 has had to cancelled as the English side toiled to find suitable hotel accommodation in a log-jammed Glasgow and we will look to host Steve Bowey’s side next season now.
BSC return to pre-season training in top boxing promoter Sam Kynoch’s SK Gym in Glasgow on Monday night before the top team’s first pitch session at their new Donald Dewar Centre training home on Tuesday night.
With some top team players on holiday new Under-20s invited players Riccardo Corrieri, Ross Geddes, Douglas Milne and Alan Kelly will join in the first week of work with Iain King’s squad.
