BSC GLASGOW to play Queen's Park in pre-season friendly
Please note this game is now being played on Saturday 11th July
BSC GLASGOW have landed their second pro pre-season friendly with a trip to face Gus MacPherson’s Queen’s Park play-off stars at Lesser Hampden on Saturday July 11th (kick-off 2pm).
The club announced last week that League One champions Morton will come to Lochburn Park on Wednesday July 8 with a 7pm kick-off as the build-up to the new Scottish Sun Lowland League campaign begins in earnest.
Now Queen’s, currently preparing for a League One Play-off Final with Stenhousemuir as they bid for promotion, will face our new-look side on the superb artificial surface in the shadow of the national stadium.
Queen’s boss MacPherson told bscglasgow.co.uk: “I know all about the developing standard of the Lowland League and have taken in a lot of games at that level this season scouting players.
“It’s great to see BSC Glasgow establishing themselves and I know the coaching staff won the SFA Challenge Cup with East Kilbride last season and are there again.
“We wish them all the best in the Final and look forward to their visit to our place come the summer.”
With the Lowland League season kicking off on Saturday July 25 BSC’s coaching staff have been working hard behind the scenes on improving their developing squad.
Striker Aaron Connolly is already on board from Ayrshire junior giants Glenafton Athletic and he has been joined by powerful left-back Drew Ramsay from Petershill.
Head coach Iain King said: “We’d like to have the squad settled and in place for the start of our pre-season programme.
“That’s what we are working towards and we’d hope to have perhaps three more deals done by then to strengthen the quality we already possess in the Cup Final squad.”
