BSC GLASGOW SFA Challenge Cup Final hero Gerry O’Connell has landed a new contract to beef up the squad for the coming season.

Gerry’s wonder goal in the 2-0 Final win over Civil Service Strollers will forever be a part of the club’s history now and he is now on board for another campaign.

The pacy midfielder, who can also operate as a striker, struck twice in the excellent 3-1 pre-season win over Queen’s Park.

And head coach Iain King said: “Gerry has one of the best attitudes in training of any player I have ever worked with.

“The key thing with him over the summer was honesty. He was involved in a fight for places last season in midfield and I knew that was going to intensify with the signing of players like our new captain Davie Gray.

“I wanted Gerry to be sure of the fight for game time and as ever he responded magnificently.

“We have real competition for places in there with the likes of Evariste Bembo and Ryan Carnwath also pushing the players of last season.

“Gerry has always bought into our training methods and I am delighted he has remained at the club.”
