LEAGUE TWO CHAMPS ON THEIR WAY TO LOCHBURN

LEAGUE TWO champions Albion Rovers will face BSC Glasgow in an excellent pre-season friendly at Lochburn Park on Saturday July 18 (kick-off 3pm).

Cliftonhill player-boss Darren Young and BSC head coach Iain King were classmates at Largs last week as they began their quest towards their SFA A Licence.

Now they will be in opposing dugouts as Rovers come to Maryhill hot on the heels of the visit of League One champions Morton.

And Albion boss Young said: “We will have a new-look squad preparing for life in League One and this is a game I am looking forward to.

“I think everyone has been impressed by the standard of the Lowland League so far. We also have a friendly with East Kilbride so we will be tested by two of the sides who won silverware.

“That’s a challenge we look forward to and we have an extra incentive because we are back on the A Licence in November and I don’t fancy listening to Kingy if we don’t win!”
