MATT’S HIGHLAND FLING with Buckie Thistle
BSC GLASGOW keeper Matt McGinley has made the breakthrough at Highland League side Buckie Thistle and starred in their last two wins up north.
Matt travelled to Aberdeen in January to take up a six-month work placement in his career as a PE teacher.
BSC released the former Albion Rovers keeper after setting up training sessions at Premiership Aberdeen to help him progress.
Matt fixed up a deal at Buckie until the summer and he said: “I’ve managed to get into the side, we’ve won the last two and I’m really enjoying it.
“The standard is similar to the Lowland League and it is a great learning experience for me although there is some amount of travelling for games up here!
“I follow the BSC boys’ fortunes closely still and I was buzzing to see we made the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup.
“I will be back home for Easter to watch that one against Edinburgh City and train with the lads and I am looking forward to that.”
