MITCH A TREBLE-SHOOTER FOR SCOTLAND
BROOMHILL SC 2001s striker Mitch Donohoe hit a superb hat-trick as SYFA Scotland won a friendly clash with GSC Napoli 5-0 at Toryglen on Friday night.
The game, part of the boys Development Programme with the international squad, also saw Mitch's team-mates Gio Vezza, Jack Muir and Calum Hughes in excellent form as the players enjoyed a training session before each playing 35 minutes in the match.
Gio was commanding at the back, Jack a constant threat wide left and Calum showed his usual calm in his holding midfield role as Mitch slammed home three good finishes.
The SYFA Scotland 2001s programme is overseen by BSC Glasgow's Lowland League coaching team of Iain King and Craig Young.
And Iain said: "The four Broomhill players did the club proud and are revelling in the international set-up so far.
"With four players from EKFC and another four from Spartans there is actually a big Lowland League presence in the 23-man squad.
"You only have to look at the fact that the Broomhill 2001s are in the last eight of the Scottish Cup to see the job being done by our coaches at that level. Mitch is a work in progress as a striker but he is desperate to learn and that's a great attribute to have."
The players received nutrition diaries and skills goal-setting modules to help with their development through the season and we will continue to follow their fortunes on the website.
