MATCH REPORT :: VALE OF LEITHEN 3 BSC GLASGOW 1
Saturday 18th October, 2014 | JEKYLL AND HYDE BSC Glasgow fell to defeat at Victoria Park after a horror first-half littered with schoolboy defending that saw them three down at the break.
Jason Stevens bagged a double and Kenny O’Brien was also on target as Vale marched in front on a rain-lashed afternoon in Innerleithen.
Yet after a nightmarish first 45 minutes BSC found something resembling the form that had brought a creditable 4-4 draw with powerful Dalbeattie Star a week earlier.
Man of the Match Ross McKinnon whipped in a free-kick the keeper couldn’t cope with and new signing Craig Duncan stabbed the ball into the roof of the net for his first goal for the club since his move from East Kilbride FC.
BSC dominated the second-half but couldn’t find the goals they needed with their frustrations summed up late on when Tony Wallace stormed through only to see the keeper divert his effort onto the inside of the post and sub Gerry O’Donnell bundled past the gaping net from four yards out.
The visitors regained some pride after the break but need to put together some consistency of performance now.
