BSC Glasgow vs Caledonian Braves
BSC Glasgow managed an impressive comeback despite Caledonian Braves dominating the first half for our first game of the New Year!
It was a bright start for both clubs but it was Braves who looked dangerous on the counter attacks and long balls. Despite this, BSC were able to break the deadlock in only the 12th minute – Jamie Glasgow swung the ball into the box and there seemed to be communication mishap between Scott Forrester and Yohann Chardon which allowed Agyeman to get a hit on it and it bounced into the back of the net.

It was a nightmare for Captain Ross McMillan only five minutes later – under pressure from the Braves attack, McMillan went to knee the ball back to Andy Leishman but he misjudged it and the ball sailed over the keeper and into the back of the net gifting Braves an equaliser.
The own goal definitely spurred Ricky Waddell’s men on as they went ahead only two minutes after. Jack Smith, after so many offside calls, was finally able to beat the offside trap and slot the ball under Leishman.
Braves continued to dominate most of the possession for the first half but unable to create much more clear-cut chances. Alfie Agyeman continued an impressive performance and tested Chardon with a powerful strike from outside the box but the Braves keeper done well to palm it away.

Straight out the gate, it was clear the early frustration had not subsided. It was the home side that was able to control a bit more possession in the opening stages but Braves still had their chances. Ross McNeil broke through the BSC defence but under good pressure from Craig McCracken, was forced to skew his shot wide.
It was start-stop play as the referee gave away free kicks every few minutes and a few players found their name in the book. Andy Geggan and Ross McMillan came off the pitch, making way for Jamie Hamilton and Jamie Mills.
BSC had to wait until the 67th minute but that elusive equaliser finally came. A fantastic pass from Jamie Hamilton to Alfie Agyeman allowed the forward to dribble through the Braves defence and unleash a strike but Chardon could only palm it away as far as Ross Lyon who smashed it high into the net.

It was all BSC in the next fifteen minutes and that all-important winning goal came not long after – Darren Christie done well to control the ball on the edge of the box and pick out Michael Anderson. Despite multiple Braves players in the box, his perfect strike dribbled through to the back of the net.
