After a tight 2-1 victory over Civil Service Strollers, Stephen Swift’s BSC Glasgow travel to East Peffermill in midweek to take on Edinburgh University in the sec- thir- fourth? attempt to get the fixture played.
We’re going into a tough wee run of fixtures, and with a largely unknown quantity of Glasgow University in the South Region Challenge Cup on Saturday, we’ll be looking to get a solid result against their university rivals tomorrow night. A win keeps the pressure on the top three and bring us level on games played with East Stirlingshire who have roared back into contention with their exceptional form in the last ten or so games.
The title looks a long shot for BSC now but there will be no doubt that Swifty’s boys will be pushing all the way to the last day as they hope for a few banana skins among our rivals’ last few matches. Martin Grehan and Stevie Murray scored the goals against Civil Service and the two veterans know how important consistency can be. Consistency and luck.
Edinburgh University have had some ups and downs this season but have won their last two matches and enjoyed a weekend off, meaning that they’ll be fresh for the challenge. Dorian Ogunro’s side will be looking over their shoulders as Dalbeattie Star and Whitehill look to be coming into form but one right result and the students could be looking at a top 10 finish after missing out last season.
