Recap

It was arguably our biggest game of the campaign and it did not disappoint as BSC Glasgow were able to keep up their undefeated record against former Lowland League Champions, The Spartans.

BSC Glasgow dominated the opening exchanges with new singings, Craig McCracken and Jamie Glasgow, immediately showing strongly. In only the 13th minute, the post was cracked and the deadlock was nearly broken early when Jamie McCormack towered over the Spartans defence to header a Declan Hughes corner.

The North Edinburgh men then seemed to have a counterattack on the play before being dispossessed and just as BSC calmed play for a few seconds, Jamie McCormack fired a tremendous long ball that found Jamie Glasgow just on the edge of the box – a beautiful first touch and perfect control allowed him to get a low strike away past Spartans keeper Harry Stone.

The luck never fell for Spartans – thanks to some good passing, a nice chance fell for Aaron Murrell on the edge of the box but he couldn’t capitalise. In the 25th minute, Harry Stone had a near-disaster when he fumbled a cross coming into the box, he recovered but Jamie Glasgow was inches from goal number two.

Goal number two came only five minutes later – good passing found Michael Anderson who decided to have a pop from outside the box and it bounced past Harry Stone who couldn’t reach.

HALF TIME | BSC GLASGOW 2 – 0 THE SPARTANS

It only took three minutes after the break and BSC Glasgow had their third – Jamie Hamilton won a perfectly timed interception and found his way in the box. Despite having a possible attempt on goal, he laid off Ryan Tierney who slotted the ball home.

The game slowed a few paces as the second half continued. Lewis Bell and Ross Lindsay came on for Darren Christie and Jamie Glasgow.

In the last ten, some good play from Ross Lindsay lets him steal the ball from a Spartans defender and play it to Ryan Tierney but Harry Stone stopped the shot well.

Spartans were able to grab one back in a moment that will haunt Jamie Mills – with an onrushing Spartans player, Mills attempted to header the ball back to keeper David Wilson, unfortunately, he well overshot the mark and the ball sailed over Wilson and into his own goal.

Fortunately, it didn’t make much of a difference.
