BSC Glasgow’s General Manager George Fraser has been elected as Chairman of the Scottish Lowland Football League.
Nominated at last night’s Lowland League AGM and elected over incumbent candidate Dr. Andrew Waddell, George has been a tireless contributor to the league since our first season and has served on the board since March, having been co-opted to a vacant position.
Anyone who knows George knows that he is almost as passionate about the profile of the league and its commitment to its member clubs as he is about BSC Glasgow and can regularly be found talking up the various storylines and exciting matches in the division. His tireless work for BSC will no doubt translate to his new role and we look forward to seeing what changes he looks to make at the beginning of his tenure.
George is keen to get off to a good start and told us: “I am absolutely delighted to be elected to such a prestigious position. To become Chairman of the Lowland League is an incredible opportunity to take the league to the next level at an exciting and challenging time for Scottish football and I want to take the opportunity to thank our fellow member clubs for their support.”
Of course, George will be staying with us in his capacity as General Manager and is already looking forward to next season. “It’s going to be a hectic couple of months as we get everything ready for next season at The Indodrill while getting to grips with my new role at the Lowland League but I’m excited about the challenge and am looking forward to working with my colleagues on the board and our member clubs to take us forward.”
