We make the long trip to sunny Galashiels tomorrow for our first visit to Netherdale this season hoping to get back to winning ways following a disappointing midweek draw against Lowland League champions East Kilbride.
After that 1-1 which felt like two points dropped, we need to take all three points to continue our fight towards the top two in the league. There were many positives to take from Wednesday night, but the match was proof positive that sometimes it’s just not your night.
Neil Hastings’ men will be frustrated with their start to the season. They currently sit 11th, only three points above the bottom four. Their last away trip ended in disappointment for a different reason after their midweek clash with Gretna 2008 was postponed due to a last minute floodlight failure.
Prior to that, they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Kelty Hearts. Despite this, they will fancy their chances against us, fresh from securing their place in the next round of the Scottish Cup after defeating Dalbeattie Star 3-1.
Former York and Edinburgh City man, Danny Galbraith is the man to watch for Gala, and he will be looking to add to his three goals this season so far.
Depending on other results, taking all three points could result in us closing the gap with second place Kelty Hearts and pulling away from Civil Service Strollers who are hot on our heels in fourth.
