We’re back at the Indodrill this weekend after almost a month away and, after having a week off due to the First Round of the Scottish Cup, we’ll be looking to get back to winning ways as University of Stirling visit.
After all, confidence among the squad should be high after being the first team in the league to hand current leaders Bonnyrigg Rose their first defeat in convincing fashion. To top that off, we cemented a place in the next round of the South Challenge Cup after putting two past a battling Bo’ness United in extra time.
A victory against University of Stirling could really help bridge the gap at the top of the table and help in the fight for first. As history shows, we’ve fared well against the University men in recent times having won 6-1 at home last season as well as 4-1 in the Lowland League Cup. However, Chris Geddes’ squad will come with their heads held high after two impressive cup wins; a victory over Arniston Rangers in the South Challenge and a 3-2 away win over Highland side Keith in the Scottish Cup.
New signings Dave McKay and Lewis Bell will be available along with Livingston loanee Marc Smith, and all three will be looking to stake a claim for a place in the Starting XI.
All three points could see us go as high as first if other results go our way; but defeat could see us drop as low as eighth depending on other results.
